			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are a resident of Texas, you may be eligible for the Texas Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG) Program.  The Texas Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG) Program is a renewable award for Texas residents who are enrolled full-time at an independent college or university within the state.  The TEG Grant is based on financial need, and the renewal rewards require that the student maintain an overall college GPA of at least 2.5.  Applicants must be enrolled part- or full-time at a two-year or four-year institution or university.  For more information on the Texas Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG) Program, please visit the <a href="http://www.collegefortexans.com" target="_blank">Texas Higher Education web site</a>.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are a Texas student who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering at a participating public or private four-year institution of higher learning in Texas, you may be eligible for the Texas Engineering Scholarship Program.  In order to qualify for the Texas Engineering Scholarship program you must meet the following requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>You must be enrolled as a sophomore in an undergraduate engineering degree program at a Texas public or private university</li>
<li>You must have registered for the Selective Service</li>
<li>You must have graduated in the top 20% of your graduating class</li>
<li>You must have graduated from high school with a GPA of at least 3.5</li>
<li>You must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.5 at the institution where you are enrolled</li>
</ul>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are a a youth in Texas age 16 to 23 and are in TDFPS foster care, you may be eligible for the Texas Education and Training Vouchers for Youths Aging Out of Foster Care.  In order to qualify for the Texas Education and Training Vouchers for Youths Aging Out of Foster Care, you must meet the following criteria:</p>
<ul>
<li>You must be between the ages of 16 and 21 with a high school diploma or equivalent and be attending a Texas public or private college that provides a bachelor&#8217;s degree or not less than a two-year program that provides credit towards an associate&#8217;s degree or certificate</li>
<li>You must be in TDFPS foster care</li>
<li>You must have aged out of TDFPS foster care, but have not yet turned 21, or, being adopted from TDFPS foster care after turning 16 years old but are not yet 21.</li>
</ul>
<p>The voucher may be used at any Texas public or private educational institution that is accredited or granted preaccredited status.</p>

If so, you may be eligible for a variety of different grants and scholarships provided by the Houston Endowment &#8211; a philanthropy endowed by Mr. and Mrs. Jesse H. Jones.  Since its inception, the Jesse H. Jones and Mary Gibbs Jones Scholarship Program has provided nearly $77 million in scholarships to 9,858 Houston-area graduating high school seniors.  Each recipient of the scholarship receives $16,000 paid over four years to support their undergraduate studies at the college or university of their choice.  The scholarship now supports all school districts within Harris County.
