If you are planning to study in a teacher preparation program for your junior or senior year at a Connecticut college or university, you may be eligible for the Connecticut Minority Teacher Incentive Grant Program. The Connecticut Minority Teacher Incentive Grant Program is available to applicants who are African-American, Hispanic / Latino, Asian American, or Native American heritage. The Connecticut Minority Teacher Incentive Grant Program provides up to $5,000 a year for two years of full-time study in a teacher preparation program during the junior or senior year at a Connecticut college or university. Applicants for the Connecticut Minority Teacher Incentive Grant Program must be African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American or Native American heritage and be nominated by the Dean of Education. Applicants for the Connecticut Minority Teacher Incentive Grant must also be enrolled or expect to be enrolled full-time at a four-year institution or university. If you are a Massachusetts resident who is currently employed as a paraprofessional in a Massachusetts public school, you may be eligible for the Massachusetts Paraprofessional Teacher Preparation Grant. The Massachusetts Paraprofessional Teacher Preparation Grant is designed to assist paraprofessionals in obtaining higher education and becoming certified as full-time teachers. Applicants of the Massachusetts Paraprofessional Teacher Preparation Grant must be enrolled or expecting to enroll full- or part-time at a two-year or four-year institution or university. Applicants of the Massachusetts Paraprofessional Teacher Preparation Grant must also be residents of Massachusetts. North Dakota Teacher Shortage Loan Forgiveness Program

If you are a student (or former student) who teaches at a grade level that is deemed as a teacher shortage area, you may be eligible for the North Dakota Teacher Shortage Loan Forgiveness Program. The Teacher Scholarship Shortage Loan Forgiveness Program will reduce student loan indebtedness by up to $1,000 per year (with a maximum of $3,000). The number of annual loan reductions depends on the current legislative appropriations.
