If you are a resident of Massachusetts, you may be eligible for the GEAR UP program. GEAR UP is a federally-funded program that is designed to give more low-income students the encouragement, skills and preparation needed to go to college. In Massachusetts, the GEAR UP program awards over 6,000 students annually. The seven school districts eligible are: Boston, Holyoke, Lawrence, Lowell, New Bedford, Springfield and Worcester.
