Idaho Minority and “At Risk” Student Scholarship

If you are an Idaho resident who is disabled or a member of a minority group and have financial need you may be eligible for the Idaho Minority and “At Risk” Student Scholarship. The Idaho Minority and “At Risk” Student Scholarship is available to graduates of Idaho high schools, and is only valid if the student attends one of eight post-secondary institutions in the state of Idaho. Applicants must be American Indian / Alaskan Native, Black (non-Hispanic), or Hispanic. Applicant must be hearing impaired, physically disabled , or visually impaired. American Council of the Blind Scholarships

The American Council of the Blind scholarship is a merit-based scholarship award available to undergraduate students who are legally blind in both eyes. To be eligible for the American Council of the Blind Scholarship, an applicant must submit a certificate of legal blindness and proof of acceptance at an accredited post-secondary institution. Applicants for the American Council of the Blind Scholarships must have a 3.5 GPA or higher and must be enrolled or expecting enrollment full or part time at a four year institution or university. Michigan Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Program

If you are a resident of Michigan and you are the natural or adopted child of a Michigan veteran, you may be eligible for the Michigan Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Program. In order to be eligible for the Michigan Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Program, the parent veteran must have been a legal resident of Michigan immediately before entering military service and did not later reside outside of Michigan for more than two years. A student may be eligible for the Michigan Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Program if the parent veteran established legal residency in Michigan after entering military service. The parent must meet one or more of the following requirements:

General military experience
Retired from active duty
Disabled or killed as a result of military service
Prisoner of war
Missing in action

Wisconsin Handicapped Student Grant

If you are a resident of Wisconsin who has a sever or profound hearing or visual impairment, you may be eligible for the Wisconsin Handicapped Student Grant. The Wisconsin Handicapped Student Grant is available to students who are enrolled at least half-time at a nonprofit institution. If the handicap prevents the student from attending a Wisconsin school, the award may be used at an out of state c0llege. New Jersey Special Needs Grant Program

If you are a New Jersey resident and you are visually impaired, auditorily impaired or learning disabled, you may qualify for the New Jersey Special Needs Grant Program. Currently there are seven centers located throughout New Jersey that assist with special needs students:

The Center for Collegiate Deaf Education at Bergen Community College assists students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
There are five regional centers in New Jersey that help with learning disabled students: Project Assist at Cumberland County College, The Regional Center at Farleigh Dickinson University, Central Regional Connections at Middlesex County College, Project Mentor at New Jersey City University and Project Academic Skills Support at Ocean County College.
The Adaptive Technology Center for New Jersey Colleges at the College of New Jersey serves all three disabilites.

Missouri Kid’s Chance Scholarship Program

If you are a resident of Missouri and you are a child of a worker who was seriously injured or killed in a work-related accident covered by worker’s compensation, you may be eligible for the Missouri Kid’s Chance Scholarship Program. Mississippi Kid’s Chance Scholarship

The Mississippi Kid’s Chance Scholarship is a scholarship fund established by the Mississippi Bar Association. The Kid’s Chance Scholarship provides scholarships for children who have had a parent killed or permanently and totally disabled on the job. To be eligible, you must be a resident of Mississippi between the ages of 17 and 23. The scholarship is good for one year, but recipients may re-apply if they show significant academic progress. You must be enrolled as a junior or a senior undergraduate at a university in the United States or Canada. Scholarships are awarded based on the candidate’s academic background, leadership and passion for computer science.
